Research
- Data collection – interviews, online surveys, observation, focus groups, ethnographies, oral histories, case studies, secondary data, document reviews
- Data analysis – narrative, discursive, descriptive, exploratory, inferential, and multivariate statistical analysis
- Needs assessment – systematic process that identifies gaps (needs) between current conditions and desired conditions (wants)
- Literature reviews and summaries – comprehensive understanding of the current knowledge of a topic/review to identify an unanswered question requiring new primary research; best and promising practices
Evaluation
- Process evaluation – examines whether program activities have been implemented as intended/ helps stakeholders see how an outcome or impact was achieved
- Program evaluation – measures program effects of target population by assessing the progress in the outcomes and objectives of that program
- Priorities assessment – measures and assesses program importance and satisfaction of a target population
